One of two home produced armored vehicles. The TK-3 was a development based on the Vickers Carden Loyd machine gun carrier. This was the first tank ever produced by the Poles. Units were produced with either a Ford or a Fiat engine. Variations of this tankette were produced with a 20 mm (13/16 inch) cannon (TKS). There were experiments done with a 37 mm (1.5 inch) cannon (TKS-D), but that design was never officially adopted. A model TKF was developed to give the tank better range, a 46 hp Fiat motor and 1 heavy and 1 light machine gun. Engineering developements included a special trailer, towed behind the TK3 that allowed the TK-3 to drive up to, connect it's power train, and drive down the road like an automobile!
